The atelierMade slowly,
Made slowly,
on purpose.
Every HEYBE piece begins as a hide and ends as an object built to last a generation. This is where that happens.
01 — Selection
The hide.
We source real leather chosen for grain, weight, and its ability to age. Each piece is cut from the same side.
02 — Cutting
By template, by hand.
No laser, no press. Templates are traced and pieces cut by hand, with a sharp knife and a steady eye for the grain direction.
03 — Stitching
Saddle stitch.
Two needles, one thread, each hole punched before stitching. A saddle-stitched seam will not unravel if a single stitch breaks.
04 — Finishing
Edge and surface.
Edges are bevelled, burnished with bone, and finished with edge paint. The surface receives a final conditioning before leaving the bench.
“We do not rush because the leather will show it. Every hour at the bench is visible in the object.”
